It is with great pleasure that I welcome my dear friend Karla Nathan as a guest artist to teach at The Cozy Castle Design Loft!
Karla is a widely followed, published artist from Lawrence, Kansas. She has been one of my greatest inspirations, and I have had the privilege of attending several of her incredible art events. Karla’s artwork, studio, and tutorials have been featured in countless publications including Romantic Homes, Somerset Life and Where Women Create.
We will spend an entire afternoon with Karla while she leads us through two very special art classes that will include lunch.
The first project is “Wings of Love”.
You will create your own set of beautiful hanging angel wings using vintage lace and millinery. If you wish, you may add your own personal items as well such as a vintage bisque doll, or other “bling.” (Karen will have some items available for purchase at The Design Loft during this special class!)
The second project, “Pages through Time” was inspired by a one of a kind vintage autograph book. In past eras, autograph books were beautiful collections of fond, affectionate verbiage. The gorgeous handwriting alone is a lost art today. Karla has put together all of the components to replicate this special book and you will create one of your very own.
During our lunch, we will peruse through my own antique autograph book collection. Many of which have watercolor drawings and writings so special, you may wish to copy some into your own newly created, vintage-inspired autograph book!
All of the materials for these projects will be supplied but there will be a few supplies for you to bring along. Once you are registered for the class, you will receive an email regarding other details and color choice information.
